Hearing Aid Technology
CornerStone Audiology Center offers hearing aids from multiple manufacturers, including hearing aids that are hidden entirely in the ear canal or discreetly behind the ear. Many of today’s hearing instruments have wireless compatibility with television and telephone via Bluetooth technology and are able to adjust seamlessly to constantly changing listening environments. At our practice, patients will find the latest technology at competitive prices in a comfortable and professional atmosphere. We will answer every question, explain the recommended options, and ensure that the proper hearing aid is selected and fitted.
In-Office Demonstrations
We offer patients the opportunity to experience hearing through a digital hearing aid at our practice. This in-office demonstration will allow you to become more familiar with what it would be like to use a hearing aid and will let you experience firsthand how these devices could help your condition.
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
We offer a hassle-free 30-day trial period with every hearing aid purchase. Close follow-up and testing are conducted within the trial period to ensure that every patient is fitted with the proper instrument for his or her unique hearing impairment. If you are not satisfied with the benefit you are receiving, the hearing aids may be returned for a refund, less a minimal restocking fee, or exchanged for another model.
What is involved in getting hearing aids?
Before purchasing hearing aids, it is important to have a complete hearing evaluation. If you have not had your hearing tested within the last six months, we will first obtain an audiogram before making recommendations on which hearing aids are right for you. Once the type and degree of hearing loss is determined, the audiologist will recommend that you see an ENT physician if there are any signs that your hearing loss may be treated with a medical or surgical procedure.
After hearing testing is completed, a hearing aid evaluation will be conducted. During the hearing aid evaluation, we will discuss with you what your needs are from an audiologic standpoint and also learn from you what your needs are based on your lifestyle. In many cases, an in-office listening demonstration can be provided to allow you to listen to the amplification before proceeding with your selection.
Once ordered, the hearing aids will arrive within 1-2 weeks, depending on the style ordered. At the hearing aid fitting appointment, your hearing aids will be programmed and adjusted to your ear. You will also be oriented on how to use them and care for them. An appointment will then be made for a progress check in one or two weeks, at which time we will see how you are doing with your aids, make adjustments, and run test measures to be sure that the settings of the aids are optimized for your needs.
Once you have completed the initial fitting process, we encourage you to return consistently for hearing aid check-ups. The audiologist will check, clean, and adjust your hearing aids as needed. If you have a problem with your hearing aids between check-ups, please call our office for an appointment.
You should undergo hearing evaluations annually (or as recommended by your audiologist), so that your audiologist can monitor your hearing and help you maintain optimal hearing aid use.
All hearing devices come with a 30-day trial period, beginning on the date the hearing aids are picked-up. This trial period is to ensure that you end up with a product that you are fully comfortable with. During the trial period, there is flexibility in the event that you need to change the style or technology level of your aids. If the aids are returned for any reason, a refund will be issued for the price of the hearing aids, less a minimal restocking fee.
Hearing aid purchases come with a dehumidifier, a limited supply of batteries, accessories/cleaning tools, repair warranties, and insurance policies. Prior to the end of the warranty period, an extension of the warranty period and insurance policy can be purchased from our office.
