“ The thing I hear from patients most often is they wish they would have come to see us years ago because they didn't realize how much improvement they could have. ”

Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery and residency in otolaryngology at the University of Louisville.

While his experience spans the care of the ears, nose and throat, along with disorders of the head and neck, Dr. Smith maintains a particular interest in the comprehensive treatment of nasal and sinus conditions. He is proficient at performing in-office balloon sinuplasty, an effective and less invasive treatment that restores normal sinus function while avoiding the risks and recovery time of general anesthesia and more conventional surgery. A well-trained and highly-skilled clinician, Dr. Smith equally values the personal side of medicine and considers the care of each patient a privilege. He has gained a reputation for providing exceptional patient care to children and adults with both expertise and compassion, having an especially comforting rapport with children, who relate well to his easy and gentle disposition. Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the North Carolina Medical Society.
