Vanessa BetancourtWe are pleased to welcome Vanessa Betancourt, AuD, to our staff. Dr. Betancourt joins Meghan Jensen, AuD, in the Audiology Department, along with four board-certified otolaryngologists. She takes special interest in caring for the hearing needs of patients of all ages from infants to seniors and finds it especially rewarding to identify hearing deficiencies early, so that she can help children get access to resources that will allow them to communicate as effectively as other children their age. “My favorite part of being an audiologist” she says, “is seeing the difference it makes when you help someone with hearing loss. I love it when they leave smiling!” Dr. Betancourt also evaluates patients with vertigo and balance issues and is adept at performing and interpreting audiological evaluations and dispensing hearing aids to fit the individual needs of a variety of patients.

Raised in Miami, Florida, Vanessa is originally from Quito, Ecuador, and speaks both English and Spanish fluently. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Florida State University, she completed her Doctorate in Audiology at A.T. Still University at the Arizona School of Health Sciences.

A licensed audiologist in the state of North Carolina, Dr. Betancourt is a certified member of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA). She will see patients at CornerStone Ear, Nose & Throat, PA, practice locations in Charlotte and Monroe, NC.
